Seattle Attorney Greg McBroom

Gregory McBroom

Managing Partner & Trial Attorney

Greg McBroom is a Washington native, a proud father of four children, a happily married man, a former structural engineer, and a product of the 80s who is just waiting to hit 88mph in a DeLorean. He’s also the Managing Partner of Smith McBroom, a boutique trial law firm representing the injured and vulnerable throughout the Pacific Northwest.

After 13 years working for Boeing, Greg went back to school to earn his law degree from Seattle University. He started his career in litigation defense, but found that the pro bono work he did on behalf of families and individuals with disabilities was far more fulfilling. One of his pro bono cases led to a $96 million dollar jury verdict in 2015 against the state of Washington. It involved an adult with heavy impairments arising from Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) who was having payment for needed services wrongfully denied by the State of Washington.

And Greg thought, There’s a better way to practice law. He and partner Matt Smith hung up their shingle in 2018.

He’s never looked back.

Greg is admitted to practice in all Washington and Oregon Courts; U.S. Supreme Court; United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; District Court for the Western District of Washington; and United States Patent & Trademark Office.

He is also an active member of multiple legal and trial lawyer organizations, and a popular and engaging presenter at legal conferences and consortiums.

When he’s not advocating for a better and more just world, Greg might be found fishing, hiking, or crabbing, spending time in the kitchen with his extraordinary wife of 33 years, or puttering around in his garage, Doc Brown style.
